A Charleston, South Carolina native who grew up along the marshes of the Ashley River—and spent part of her childhood at Connie Maxwell Children’s Home—she found refuge in the campus library, devouring every title on the shelves. Those stories sparked a dream that would carry her from the South Carolina coast to the heart of the publishing world. Now living in the Sandia Mountains of New Mexico along the storied Turquoise Trail, she continues to write, mentor, and champion the creative independence of authors everywhere.
